Junior Curlers Set to Represent Australia in Finland

It’s not just WA’s women competing internationally this month; our next generation of curlers are stepping up too.
A talented group of young athletes from Curling WA will represent Australia at the World Junior-B Curling Championships in Lohja, Finland, from 7 to 20 December. The event features separate Junior Men and Junior Women disciplines with 20 nations competing in the Junior Men’s field and 23 nations competing in the Junior Women’s field.
WA athletes Sam and Matthew (Junior Men), Holly, Brydie, and Molly (Junior Women) will join other junior curlers from Victoria on the international stage.
The Junior Women’s team will be supported by WA coach Elliott Douglas and WA physician Michael Baker.
Curling WA Chair David Moy said: “Our juniors bring an energy and passion that lifts the whole club. They’ve put in the hours, supported each other, and grown so much as athletes. Seeing them earn the chance to represent Australia is incredibly rewarding. They truly are the next wave of Australian curling talent, and we can’t wait to see what they achieve in Finland.”
